The Capitol Christmas Tree is arriving at the U.S. Capitol after making its way from a forest in northeast Washington state.
Once the tree is in place on the Capitol's west lawn Monday, organizers say it will be decorated with more than 5,000 handmade ornaments from children across the country. A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
The tree made stops in Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland on its way to the nation's capital.

I wonder what it would cost just to plant a tree instead of cutting down a temporary tree every year? Seems so wasteful.
ReplyDeleteI heard that the tree was so big that it had a deer stand in it that no one noticed until it was stood up.The deer stand had a automatic corn feeder that goes off every 12 hours. At least the DC squirrels will love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is not a MUSLIM TREE YO!
ReplyDeleteWill the Muslims even have a tree in or around the white house?
ReplyDelete11:52-That's a great idea.I'm curious because I don't know;if a tree this big with the root system and dirt with it was transported to the White House, could it be replanted successfully?
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me that the POS we have in the White House allowed it.
