Attempting To Flee And Elude/DUI/DWI-Salisbury

DATE & TIME: 11/11/2013 @ 0145 hours CASE NUMBER: 2013-00043816
LOCATION: Zion Road @ Rt. 13, Wicomico County Md.
INCIDENT: Attempting to flee and elude police, Reckless Endangerment, Assault, DUI/DWI, numerous traffic charges.
On the above date and time, Maryland State Police in Salisbury were notified of a black Dodge Durango that was fleeing into Wicomico County from Deputies in Dorchester County on Rt. 50 near Vienna. The vehicle was eventually stopped at the intersection of Zion Road and Rt. 13 and the driver of the vehicle, Richard Wayne Dawson, 20, of Denton Maryland was taken into custody. Two passengers in the vehicle, a 13 year old female and a 15 year old male, were released to their parents by Dorchester County Deputies. While fleeing from the police during this incident, Dawson nearly rammed a Maryland State Trooper’s vehicle at Rt. 50 and Nanticoke Road. Dawson was taken into custody by Maryland State Police and was charged with DUI/DWI, along with numerous criminal and traffic charges. Dawson will be transported to a District Court Commissioner for a hearing later this morning.
