THE LOWER SHORE LGBTQ COALITION (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning)
The LGBTQ Coalition was founded in May 2013 by several local agency workers and Salisbury University students after attending the Annual Conference, “Issues Impacting Mental Health of the LGBT Population” sponsored by Wicomico County Health Department, Minority Youth Outreach Project, and Wicomico Somerset Regional Core Service Agency. The conference generated dialogues regarding the lack of resources and support on the Lower Shore for this population and the need to address this concern. The coalition meets monthly with the primary goals of supporting LGBTQ youth and young adults, reducing intolerance and enhancing acceptance within the community, and increasing the wellbeing of LGBTQ youth and young adults. The LGBTQ Coalition is continually in search of supporters of our mission. New members are always welcome to join in the efforts of advocating, educating, and supporting the LGBTQ youth in Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset counties. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month and alternate between daytime and evening. The location of the meetings vary. For more information, if you would like to attend a meeting, or would like to be identified as an LGBTQ ally, please contact Jennifer Riebe, Community Resource Specialist with Maryland Choices at jriebe@mdchoices.org or Chalarra A. Sessoms, Child and Adolescent Coordinator with Wicomico Behavioral Health Authority at chalarra.sessoms@maryland.gov.

ReplyDeletethanks for posting, joe. not sure if i would have found out about this if not for you sharing. I have many LGBT & probably a few Q friends/family in my life and its always good to show support for the people you love.
ReplyDeleteas i've said, i appreciate you posting things that represent all facets of life instead of being 1 sided.
CJ
CJ, I/We too have many friends of such, all of which know I do not agree with their lifestyle choices but I don't knock them either.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do knock male public officials who choose to use the Ladies Room, if you get my drift?
Well, after "few" drinks those bathroom signs an MoJo's get "little hazy". Besides this "Drag Queen" of a Mayor has hissy fits of a sexually confused teenage girl.
DeleteI don't understand. If it's not a big deal to be hetero, why is it a big deal to be anything else?
ReplyDeletelifestyle choice? Your an ass, you choose to be straight?
ReplyDeleteWho cares what consenting adults do in their bedrooms... it's none of my business. I sure don't advertise to other people what I do in mine. What happened to not judging others, and the golden rule?
ReplyDeleteAnd your "questioning" got your butt handed to you, 69/31. I found that final voting percentage pretty ironic.
