A state lawmaker wants to do away with the rain tax.
Howard and Carroll County Republican Senator Allan Kittleman, has already filed legislation to repeal the requirement that Baltimore City and nine counties collect the storm water management fee, or so called rain tax.
He says the law is unnecessary, and has an attorney general's opinion to back up his argument, noting local governments could have collected this tax on a property's paved surfaces as far back as 1992.
