Ireton Makes New Parking Arrangements And More

Ever since John Pick moved on and Ireton fired Lore' Chambers, new parking arrangements have been made to accommodate interim Tom Stevenson.

John Pick was subjected to parking quite a distance away from the GOB as well as Lore' Chambers. However, out of nowhere, Tom Stevenson has been placed in the preferred parking spaces closest to the GOB. Is this proof of further discrimination?

To top it off, John Pick and Lore' Chambers came to and from work in their own personal vehicle. The City did not provide a vehicle for their position. However, Tom Stevenson is in fact driving a City vehicle at taxpayers expense.

Concerned citizens have contacted me about this matter and now it is up to the Court of Public Opinion.

  1. Salisbury has no concerned citizens. If it did you would see them at council meetings showing displeasure or at city hall discussing displeasures with those in charge

  3. 8:45, you didn't read or didn't comprehend. Pick didn't get the perk. Stevenson is.

  4. 8:32. That is a false statement.
Why get involved when the result is humiliation.
Why get involved when the deck is stacked against you.
Why get involved when the game is rigged?
I believe that history has shown that no matter what you do in this town to make things better, if it does not suit the good old boys agenda you are wasting your breath.
If you are just a common citizen and not part of the in crowd you are wasting your time.
You have an over bloated fire department you don't need
You have a police department that is not community friendly
You have an ineffective animal control department, despite their efforts
    Your government resources/department are worthless
You have a gang/drug/welfare problem that is being ignored
I believe that most citizens have learned over the course of many years, that they are wasting their breath and time, trying to take action and better their community.
Most of us are simply trying to keep our heads above water and have turned a blind eye to the troubles of this community, because despite our best attempts, those in positions to help... don't.
People have stopped caring because they have learned, that those in office do not care about them.
    It's every man for himself.

  5. anonymous 9:00, AMEN!

Interesting how Ireton is surrounding himself with "yes men" who are not qualified for these positions in order to get things passed with a rubber stamp Council before he is forced to hire QUALIFIED people. Obama, O'Malley, O'Ireton.

  6. Was the city council's closed meeting last week in regard to Lore' Chamber's lawsuit?

  7. I saw Tom Stevenson driving the same Jeep he had when he was in charge of NSCC. How does he get a take home vehicle that was supposed to be parked at one time per request of the city council. If that vehicle was allotted for NSCC then it should go back to NSCC. Tom Stevenson is uneducated and not qualified to run a Kool Aid stand. What makes him deserving of a take home car. Why does he deserve a take home car? The racist mayor fired a black Asst. City Administrator and leapfrogged an uneducated male over her. When is the EEOC going to get involved.

  8. Will someone drive up there and get a picture of this for the tax payers to see for themselves.

  9. Why does any bodies job require a take home vehicle? I'm trying to get a job over there they have better take homes.

  10. 9:48 why don't you do it yourself? People who do nothing but post on this blog instead of actually doing stuff to create change in this city are why we're in such bad shape?

  11. Why don't you people get a life! The Mayor does what he wants he won the election and calls the shots! Just like Obama only way to stop it is un elect them! Crying and complaining does nothing! Take pictures all you want NOBODY CARES!! Sad state of the Union!

  12. Mr. Stevenson has a vehicle because he is still affiliated with NSCC. In fact he responded in the middle of the night to a house fire on Lincoln Ave. on Wednesday when the fire department requested NSCC for code inspection. PLEASE educate yourself on the facts before you speak.

  13. anonymous 10:32, So your saying Ireton and Stevenson are now controlling at least TWO Departments?

I don't remember the fire department having a house fire in the middle of the night. It that is in fact the case then you are proving that departments can be consolidated and we can start eliminating more department heads. Thanks for proving something for us.

  19. Don't complain about Lore. She is a product of the Tilghman administration. Started as a grant writer and slid to the unnecessarily created Asst. City Administrators position. We know your distain for Tilghman.

  21. Does this city/county have recall language in their charters?
If so, then Chuck Cook is correct.., recall them. Make them work for us or sit on the sidelines.
And, if we don't have recall language, it needs to be added. All of us can appreciate what Colorado is doing about unfit representation.

  22. Has Stevenson been required to take a drug test to be eligible for a city vehicle to drive anywhere?

  23. If I attended a council meeting, I would probably be arested. I could get so mad I would blow up. Better I stay home and just yell at the TV.

  24. I will gladly sign a recall petition as soon as one hits the streets.

  26. It's time to recall Jim Liarton(notice I refuse to call him Mayor) and the majority of the Salisbury City Council.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Why does that Jeep thing wannabe cop Tommy Stevenson drive have those fake amber police strobes on them? Does his NSCC clowns still carry those fake black wannabe cop badges? Maybe that is why Jim Liarton promoted him to acting city administrator, Jimbeau has a touch of being a holster sniffer.

  28. I'm not against Stevenson, but the Mayor is your typical democrat. He believes that he can do anything and judge all others for not doing what he says.

  29. WE have satan for a president , we have a queer for mayor , we have an idiot for governor . I expect nothing less.
Sorry , shouldn't have used the word queer , he's mentally challenged .

  31. With Jim Ireton putting that uneducated code compliance person in charge of a multimillion dollar budget for a medium sized city proves that he isn't qualified to be the mayor of Salisbury much less the mayor of Powellville.

    ReplyDelete
  32. We are in a depression , a lot of people out of jobs etc. there should be drug testing for all city employees, due to Cheeper insurance. If they don't need vehicles. For their jobs the gas shouldn't be waisted . Unless Tom Stevenson has be in and out for his job, he should walk like all other city employees . Unless he has a job that requires him be a lot of places drive his own car, he does make pretty good money. Salisbury doesn't need any more bad publicity. Salisbury needs some up comment instead of bad ones!

  33. anonymous 8:42, it would be nice to publish positive things about Salisbury. I'll repeat, the Chamber of Commerce insisted I tone it down during the election and only say positive things about Salisbury, perhaps they'd support my campaign then. I bow to NO ONE. Jake Day has created Websites now with "SBY" in the name in the hopes that it will send nothing but positive messages about Salisbury and draw people away from SBYNews.com. LMAO. Sorry but we have traffic in the millions. Loyal repeat visitors that know and depend on getting the TRUTH. If there's something positive, I publish it. In life we tend to easily forget the positive and remember more of the negative. It's just how our brains work.

I'll end with this. For those of you who have been following SBYNews for years now, you know how harsh I used to be. I've toned it down a LOT. However, I'm not afraid to tell the truth and expose things.

  34. I guess Stevenson doesn't mind being Ireton's punching bag when he has a hissy fit. Don't know how John Pick put up with that crap, I guess he was used to Tighlman's random fits of rage.

You might ask about the jobs created for JI this year in the school system. Was either one advertised? Did he interview? Is he more qualified than other teachers?

    ReplyDelete
  36. What a complete lack of respect for the tax paying citizens to simple put a "yes person" in a job that they know nothing about and can't function properly for the CITIZENS not the mayor. Just because you are democrats does not mean all of you don't work for the citizens. Here's a news scoop, you work for us NOT the other way around.

Stop being a bunch of trolls and actually start working for the TAX PAYING citizens instead of the democrats. Actually demonstrate real concern. What a positive step that would be.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anon 8:42 you can be rest assured that Tom Stevenson is making close to $100,000 a year in acting pay.

You are correct. John Fredericksen gave him a created position of TAD teacher which gives him nothing to do. The class is Thinking and Doing and only meets a couple of times a week and the kids do all the work. There is no teaching what so ever. Jim Ireton is also working part time hours and getting full time benefits and perks including retirement.

TAD students do get instruction from their TAD teachers since the kids don't know how to research and produce documentaries like the one they did about local veterans that was featured on the national news last spring. They do projects involving architecture and countless other topics they need to be taught. Be that as it may, TAD didn't work out for JI so that job disappeared, and a new job was made at Willards. Will the public ever believe the board of ed's budget is tight?

The point of the original comment was that Jim Ireton isn't qualified to teach the TAD program. What is Jim Ireton's new job at Willards? Please let us know.

  41. If the job is reading teacher, folks who hold that job in other schools have certification in reading. Kids do better when teachers are qualified.
