DOCTORS, HOSPITALS DEMANDING PATIENTS PAY ENTIRE DEDUCTIBLE UP FRONT THANKS TO OBAMACARE

The rocky rollout of Obamacare isn’t limited to website problems. According to a report from Bloomberg, many doctors and clinics are now demanding that people pay the entire deductible on their insurance before they will be seen. Obamacare will increase that practice, since a huge number of plans under Obamacare have low premiums with huge deductibles.

  1. If one to read the article, they would quickly see that this has been going on and is NOT caused by Obamacare. The trend is actively being pushed by private companies that see the high deductable-low premium plans as more cost effective.

  4. People are going to overwhelm the ER like never before 12:23 which was supposed to be prevented by obamacare.
12:14-When was the last time you had to pay up front before seeing a doctor or having surgery that wasn't an emergency? Now it's going to be "show me the money" and you will be treated otherwise go home and when it becomes so bad go to the ER where they will treat you.

  5. All I've seen is HIGH premiums ,HIGH deductables and HIGH copays. This bill is going to drive this country to it's knees. All liberal ideas have the exact opposite result of its stated intent.

  6. That's pretty standard in every doctors office I have been in and has been for a while.

  7. Depending on who the insurance company is, it may be and usually is against the provisions of the contract.
Medicare will not allow it, and patients are to wait for the claim to be processed and Medicare will tell you what you owe. If they find out, especially Medicare, they will yank you off the contract and you can not provide for them.
Same with other providers such as Blue Cross, United Health Care and Aetna.
Doctors can charge you your Copay amount, such as, typically $20, $40.
But until the claim is processed thru the insurance company, you should NEVER pay any thing else, NOR give them access to your debit or credit card. The local urgent care center asks for it, simply reply that you do not have one.
Sadly most sheeple don't bother to find out the do's and don'ts and readily hand over personal financial information and end up in a fight when it's been double paid.

  8. We've never had to pay upfront. Whatever insurance doesn't cover we then get a bill in the mail from the doctor's office later.

  9. 1:22-I think you mean some doctors want the full deductible up front. Some obstetrics practices do this as do other specialties that most likely will result in multiple visits. What this is all about is paying up front any co pays before you walk into an examining room, before you will be seen by a medical provider.

  10. 1:18 Not necessarily so. Bottom line is with the high costs people just aren't going to sign up. So Obamacare will fail on it's own. And when people get fined for not having health care because it is to expensive, the Democratic party is finished. Do not do anything, sit tight, it will fail on it's own.

  12. "cost effective" translation : highly profitable. If consumers HAVE to pay a monthly premium, but can't afford to actually go to the doctor or have surgery, that whats called a "win-win" in the insurance industry. Helps keep down SSI payments down; the same for Medicare and Medicaid. When people die, those programs also become "cost-effective".

  13. 4:18 You may have the right approach. Those people who have had no health insurance are not going to get it now. Why should they? If they go to the ER they will be treated anyway. So, if they are not on the federal register for having insurance, and they are in a accident, the ambulance will leave them there? That won't work either because who will pay for the ambulance? No wallet no ID, no ride to the hospital. The buzzards in Washington are hungry.
