  2. Only one of the four changes in law was challenged and will be appealed.

  3. The new law requires abortion clinics to follow the FDA approved regimen for use of the RU 486 drug, requires that medically-trained personnel administer the drug (not office staff!) and requires a follow-up appointment to assure that termination was completed and that no part of the aborted fetus remains in the womb.
Also the new law bans abortions after 20 weeks (when science has proven the fetus feels pain).
The part of the bill being challenged requires abortion physicians to have hospital admitting privileges within 30 miles of any abortion facility.

  4. The law was written to "regulate" them in such a way as to make it impossible for them to exist. This law is a farce. It's intention is NOT to make anyone safer, it's purpose is to attempt to ban abortion, by regulating it to death.

When Anti-abortionists knew they couldn't ban abortion, they did the next best thing. Get the government to regulate it to the point they couldn't operate. The 30 mile rule would have wiped out 1/3 of abortion providers right out of the gates.

The judge was right to see this law for what it really was, and what it's true intentions were.
