    As in, its advised to take caution and shelter in case a tsunami develops. I'd trust the USGS they are some brilliant folks.

  10. A tsunami can actually pass under a boat or ship in the open ocean and just shake it like a speed bump.Not until it reaches the shore does it increase in volume and height.A 15" high tsunami could be 15' by the time it arrived on land.
