A Letter To The Editor 10-7-13 PRMC

Putting numbers into perspective

PRMC vaccinated 4,610 people at their annual flu clinic, at $10 a head that equals roughly $46,000+ or roughly 5% of CEO Peggy's annual salary (the portion of which is made public).

  1. So what? WHat the hell difference does it make? I see no reaseon to be critical of success.

  2. This is one of the most ridiculous posts I have seen. People here are just wanna bees instead of making something of themselves... complaining just makes you happy

  3. I was very impressed with the flu clinic. I expected no less since I go every year to get my flu shot. The planning for this event far outweighs the money received. Do not trash the hard working employees and volunteers of PRMC.

  4. Joe: a better post would be Who gets a flu shot? I never get one and don't plan on getting one! I can't believe the number people who just let the government inject them with something that probably won't protect against this year's flu!

  6. Atlantic General Hospital offers FREE flu shots at various sites, why not free at PRMC?

  8. Not everyone one pays. It is not mandatory. It is just a donation. If you don't have the money you still get the shot.

  9. I agree 10:37. The pharm industry is laughing all the way to the bank at the people who fall for this most useless vaccine ever created.

  10. 10:37 so what are you saying? that our government would lie to us? say it ain't so Joe!
You must be one of those conspiracy nuts who thinks nsa listens in and tracks all our phone calls and everything we look at online, and where we drive our cars. Maybe even track our location by our cell phones and listen in on our conversations.
Yeah right, we all know our government would never do that kind of stuff! So why not trust them completely and let them pump who knows what into our bodies. It must be good for us. right?

  11. Wonder if they will charge for the Employees MANDATORY Flu shot. It is truly a sad day when you can be forced to take a drug you do not wish to. Quick bucks there Peg!!

  12. First, not to defend PRMC because I would not do that (they pay someone to do that), but that is part of the "community benefit" they are required to pay as part of the MD hospital rate structure. And since they have yanked back most of their other contributions they make to local organizations, you should be glad this one goes on.

Second, the salary you reference is actually from the latest *publicly released* 990 form... which was some time ago (I believe the last one covered up to June 2011). I'll bet by now, Boss Hogg's salary is up over a $1 million per annum, and that does NOT include the cost of contributions her retirement plan.

Not bad for the first hospital president in PGH/PRMC history to preside over a real layoff that reached all the way up to the director level!

You MUST get this shot, or face suspension. And if you refuse again, FIRED!

  14. Where is the overhead in this math?

  15. In reference to the flu shot...why is it that the flu mist is being given in the public schools at Wicomico County, in the cafeteria of most schools, none the less..

  16. What is wrong with all you idiots?
