Quarter Commemorates Fort McHenry

More than 270 million quarters that feature Fort McHenry will be put into circulation, the 19th in a series produced by the U.S. Mint that commemorates America's parks and historic sites.

The program, called the America the Beautiful Quarters program, shows Fort McHenry, the American Flag and the 'bombs bursting in air' as written by Francis Scott Key when he wrote the Star Spangled Banner.

"That's what the coin commemorates," said Dick Peterson, Deputy Director of the U.S. Mint.
