Hey Joe,
I was informed that the MDSP are about 16 weeks, four months, behind processing background checks for firearms purchases and can no way meet the 8 day turn around for requests. I hear that there are many guns waiting at gander mountain for pick up… guns people have paid for and are waiting for because the mdsp are negligent in their processing. And when they do “approve” some one, it comes back “NOT DISAPPROVED”…
I plan to ask a sheriff’s deputy to escort me to pick up my purchases in eight days and if I am denied my property, to ask the deputy to arrest the person for a property violation.
Things need to start happening and that is my intent.
I will let you know of the timing of my actions… one week from today.
Best of luck to you. It is nothing but a shame how the good people of MD get the shaft.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that ludicrous plan. You will be the one the sheriff will arrest for being an idiot!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's why you should go to a local shop, Not a big chain store.
ReplyDeleteMy friend, the merchandise does not belong to you until the purchase process is complete. Complete means a completed and approved background check.
ReplyDeleteNot so 8:44.
DeleteThat is awesome. Good luck to you fellow fed-up Marylander
ReplyDeleteYou have a great idea! This should spread across America! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteNothing new there with the "not disapproved" and this backlog has been around since they passed the damn legislation. Look into joining/supporting MSI and don't embarrass yourself with your planned "action"
ReplyDeleteQuite honestly I believe this by the governor's order. There is/was no reason, what-so-ever, for this delay. These gun-grabbers must surely have known the number of permit requests were going to spike when the bill became law. In other words, it was planned like this and the MSP were totally aware of it. Many, many Marylanders and Americans in general are beginning to see them as the hypocritical anti-American thugs they truly are. If America falls it will be law enforcement that brings her down.
ReplyDeleteWhat an idiot, no wonder the eastern shore is in the shape it's in! Yep funny stuff...
ReplyDeleteA better plan! drink a lot of beer before you go.
ReplyDelete901 is lying. I waited 6 days for my ccw minipistol a year ago. Gander called me up and said come pick it up! The story here is bullsh!t.
ReplyDeleteIf 9:01 is lying, so are the employees at Gander. Coupla weeks ago I bought a handgun and was told the average wait is 16 weeks.
ReplyDeletesorry, the law says the dealer may release after 7 days, not must
ReplyDeletethere are plenty of dealers releasing after 8 days,
you chose poorly
Hey Knucklehead
ReplyDeleteThat was a year ago.
You will wait at least 3 months if you purchase a regulated firearm today.
Well, to you not knowing fools...
ReplyDeleteThere IS A MARYLAND LAW that says you are allowed to receive your gun after 8 days of waiting regardless of the backlog...
SO this guy has a legitimate argument... Though, I doubt the police will arrest them nor get him the gun faster...
It is up to the store to release it or not I think... but the law does say after 7 to 8 days you can get your gun... BY LAW it says that...
So to the ones calling this guy an IDIOT, you are the idiot for not knowing the laws...
Federal law says you get your gun in just 3 days if ATFE don't respond to a request for a background check, the stores are violating the Federal Gun Law !!
ReplyDeleteI purchased a handgun on May 1st, 2013 and am still waiting for the approval. At 56 years of age with no criminal background and having bought numerous guns in Maryland in my lifetime I am perplexed at what the holdup is. I don't even have a parking ticket hanging over my head. Us law abiding citizens are having our rights eroded every day and we are powerless to stop it.
ReplyDelete@8:48
ReplyDeleteOnly 56? By the time I get mine, my seeing eye dog will have to sight it for me!
You can talk about the federal & state laws all you want. 8 days is the law but just try getting a regulated firearm today and see for yourself. Interesting that the people who are saying the story is untrue haven't tried to purchase one in the last 2 or 3 months.
ReplyDeleteA gun dealer can transfer the gun to you legally after the 7 day waiting period. I've read it in the Maryland State Police website. What happens after the paper work comes back as disapproved? My guess would be a warrant would be issued and a swat team dispatched to confiscate the weapon and make an arrest for possessing an illegal firearm.
ReplyDeleteAnd to put the icing on the cake a real gun owner should already have ample supply of weapons. The mad rush of people are the ones who are not prepared and probably shouldn't even own a gun.

People who think like you scare me, and probably should not be allowed to own weapons.
Do YOU see how asinine that sounds?
