It's pretty safe to assume, most of us go the same speed as the drivers in front of us in a traffic flow situation, even if it's a little over the speed limit, but drivers of both motorcycles and automobiles continually fail to remember that a m/c will stop in half the distance of an automobile, or in this case a pick-up truck. This accident is clearly the fault of law enforcement stepping out into traffic, in their self appointed, money making zeal, to harvest revenue from motorists. Radar and giving tickets cures nothing for the next guy coming down the road to fast after the cops go home. This accident is one more waisted life propelled forward to the next waisted time cops use this form of speed control, for all involved. It's about dollars and cents, nothing more. Sad deal!
th accident was caused by the driver of the pickup who was either driving too fast, following too closely, inattentive driving or a combination of these reasons. Its not the cops fault. Vehicles that rear end other vehicles are a result of that driver's neglect.
My 6:03 pm response to YOU 3:06am is right below in this thread. 11:46am states the facts, unlike your opinion/position. You'll change your mind, once this non thinking law enforcement action happens to YOU. L.E. will change instantly, once one of their own gets run over or killed.
I was in the slow lane on 50 doing about 60 mph. there were people passing me, but none too crazy. All of a sudden a cop jumps out onto the road and points to a car behind me. a car and a truck in the left lane took emergency action as if they thought the officer was going to run in front of them. They jammed on the brakes and moved to the right....almost right into me and the truck in front of me. Im glad that there was grass to my right instead of a concrete barrier.
This type of crap really has to stop. Police, please take notice. I understand what you are trying to do, but if you find someone who is speeding, stay in your car and run them down instead of running into traffic. Someone is going to get killed.
guess they didn't bother to ask msp about this!
ReplyDeletewouldve never happened if they werent speeding either. lacking personal accountability again

Deleteit's so dangerous!! I know people SHOULD pay attention when they drive, but some don't. therefore, it's bound to happen that someone gets hurt!
ReplyDeleteA matter of time before MSP cause a killing on rt50...they step out in traffic everyday.
