Doctors in Aliso Viejo, Calif., initially thought 4-year-old Paul Franklin had a staph infection resulting from a cut on his knee. When a round of antibiotics did nothing to heal the would, his family discovered a much more bizarre problem.
Acting against a doctor’s recommendation, the boy’s mother squeezed the wound to drain it after her son’s knee started turning black.
It was then that a black sea snail shot out of the boy’s knee.
