A group of mothers staged a protest at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Wednesday morning over policies about breastfeeding on planes.
The group said it is angry over what it considers the poor treatment of a Laurel mom during a recent American Airlines flight.
That woman said a stewardess asked her twice to cover up her 5-month-old son when she was feeding him.

These are a bunch of non conformists. That was a perfectly acceptable request.
ReplyDeleteI breast fed all three of my children until they were about 12-16 months and I did it in public. I was always very discreet and was always completely covered with a blanket.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the mother on the flight didn't have any respect for the other passengers around her. No one wants to see your boob....cover up!
Boobies are awesome. People need to get over it or go hide in their trailers and don't ever travel to Europe where there are boobies on TV and and at the beach.
ReplyDeleteAgree with 3:52. No one wants to see your saggies. Throw a towel over it please.
ReplyDeleteI'm a women. And, the last thing I want to see is a mother breasting feeding her child in public. Bonding with your child through breast feeding is a wonderful thing. Some women just don't care how they do this in a respectful manner. It's not an attractive look. It just makes me want to throw up.
ReplyDeleteLet the fun begin. Take one down pass it around.
ReplyDeleteWiping my behind is natural but I don't do that in public either. I don't want to see it. Have some class and be discreet.
ReplyDeleteThere just needs to be more men staring them down when they are breast feeding. Maybe making them uncomfortable will make the rest of the cabin more comfortable.
ReplyDeleteIn this situation, maybe two wrongs does make a right?
I am a male and love to see a woman's breast as much as the next guy, what I don't want to see is a mother breastfeeding. It's not unattractive, it's a private thing that the world wishes not to see. I think it is rude of mothers to think they can breastfeed in public but then get upset if you look.
ReplyDeleteThe airlines request was simple and reasonable. They should give her nothing, if they do, then the other passengers need to be compensated too. If it is offensive to her to be asked to cover up, then it is equally offensive to others for her refusal.
Many years ago (when it was thought uncool) I went to a meeting held for new mothers to teach us about breast feeding and the woman in charge toddler came in from outside and asked to nurse in front of us. The child was walking and talking!! So she obeys his request. She was a total idiot and I was turned off from that day forward. I wish I had never gone to the meeting b/c it is the best thing you can do for your newborn's health. Like everything else in this world..a few make it bad for the rest.
ReplyDeleteI'm a man and I love watching women breastfeed. There's just something magical about it.
ReplyDeleteBrabitz is that you?
DeleteI think its sad that people have taken breastfeeding and changed it to be something negative or "gross". your body was created with breast for one purpose in life.. TO BREASTFEED. those of you who think they are sexual or want to stare at boobs on a daily basis are just sad.. they produce milk that is their sole function so why is it terrible that someone is using them for their intended purpose?? unfortunately as a woman i feel if you don't want to see it don't look! I dont want to see young mens butts either but when they sag I cant request them to pull their pants up, I am not 400lbs so if i see a fat person with their gut hanging out under their shirt on a flight can I tell them to buy a new shirt to cover their disgusting fat up with? Nope I cannot. get a grip people its the healthiest thing for that child maybe she forgot a blanket? maybe you should try eating your lunch or dinner under a blanket.. if you dont like it why would a 6 month old like to eat that way? selfish people have the most opinions about other peoples lives.
ReplyDeleteI would pull up a chair in front of them and stare! I might wear biking shorts and lick my lips too!
ReplyDeleteYeah but then they get offended when they're the ones whipping it out 5:10. I'm right with you though.
DeleteSorry nobody but perverts want to see this
ReplyDeleteAnd mostly promiscuous women like to breastfeed in public 6:53.
DeleteBreastfeeding could actually be the answer to all the free formula that is handed out. Cant afford formula? No need to have the government pay for it when your body produces free milk. No one seems to be disgusted when puppies or kittens are nursing.
ReplyDeleteNever gave it much thought. Every body has the same feature. But then I was never overly enamored of breasts. Like the dr. says, you can have a normal sex life without them. Hands are much more important and useful. I don't see what the hubbub is all about.
