So where are all the free speech advocates that love the refrain "if you don't like it, turn the station/dial/on-off button? Huh? I see. They are now in the "if I don't like it, YOU shouldn't see/hear it either" club. Gives them extremely high credibility. Or not. And for the record, I don't really care for that piece of trash Fonda, but in the words of a much smarter man than I, "I may not agree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it." Even part-time Americans (the sheep, the stupid, and the lemmings) should appreciate that (in between book burnings, censorship, and cheering the current crop of Nazi's).
6:06, FYI, this goes way beyond freedom of speech. she said what she wanted at that time; now people can chose to say what they want at this time. seems like freedom of speech to me. after all, this man owns the theater. it's his business. again; his choice.
I was drafted and served in 1967-1969. I did not agree with the Vietnam war but I did my job as an American. Never ever would I ever consider turning on my fellow comrades. Piss on her!
During the McCarthey era, actors and actresses accused of communism were blacklisted from Hollywood. We know now that most of that was a witch hunt, but Jane was different. There was no speculation as to what her motives were, and she continued making movies.
The whole movie is a farce based on a real life person whose biography is as close to this movie as the movie Bravehart was to the real William Wallace. If you love fictional propaganda that amplifies the so called “Black” American Experience that makes heroes where none actually existed, then this is the movie for you.
Right On!!
