WASHINGTON - The states are neighbors, but gas prices in Maryland and Virginia are growing far apart from each other.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon regular, unleaded gas in Maryland is currently $3.56, while Virginia boasts a $3.36 a gallon average.
The 20-cent disparity follows radically different approaches to raising money for transportation projects.
