Sheriff’s Team Working To Seize Guns From Thousands In Illinois

An Illinois sheriff’s team is crisscrossing the Chicago suburbs in an effort to seize guns from thousands of people whose right to own a firearm has been revoked, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

According to the paper, more than 3,000 people in Cook County have failed to surrender their revoked Firearm Owners Identification Card, or FOID, which is required to legally buy guns or ammunition.

Sheriff Tom Dart said he thinks many of the 3,000 continue to possess firearms.

  4. Sorry for the correction, 3:50, but this is coming to everyone everywhere. How many Nazi's saw this and thought "Hey! Why don't we compare the gun registration lists to the courthouse records and go get us some nice guns?" With lawmakers across the country putting ever-increasing reasons into law concerning who really has a right to possess a gun (there are DOZENS of MISDEMEANORS (!!), none of which are violence related, that prevent a citizen from EVER--as in "for the rest of their lives" -- owning a gun. So, American citizens, be prepared for the Swat Team to roll up and see what's up at your house. But don't worry about getting shot -- the police NEVER go to the wrong house and kill anyone. And if citizens open up on some guys dressed in black running through their yard, well, things happen.

  5. So in order for you to have a gun which is a 2nd Amendment right you have to possess a FOID card?
