ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A New Jersey police detective has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the shooting of another driver in a case of road rage in Maryland.
An Anne Arundel County grand jury returned the indictment Friday against 40-year-old Joseph Walker of Mount Holly.
Walker works for the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. He had been charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter immediately after the June 8 fatal shooting of Joseph Harvey Jr. of Millersville. More
He will never be able to re create this incident in court.Truth is,the alternative to stopping his vehicle may have caused disaster for other vehicles and occupants.He will never be able to prove it to a jury,because putting them at the scene is not possible without their physically having been there.All of the witness testimony cannot bring the heat of the moment into the courtroom.Bottom line is,he did the right thing, and he may have saved his families' lives and the lives of others in the process.
