Mid-Atlantic Charity Poker Classic Offers 1st Place Prize Of $15,000

(Salisbury, MD) The Mid-Atlantic Charity Poker Classic is on deck for Saturday, August 24th at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Doors will open at 8 a.m., with the main event starting at 10 a.m. The tournament is offering a guaranteed, minimum first place prize of $15,000.*

Proceeds from the one day tournament will benefit the Friends of Wicomico Recreation, Parks & Tourism’s “Tomorrow Fund.” This fund provides scholarships to families in need for county run after-school child care, summer day camps and youth recreational programs.

The Poker Classic is a No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament with $200 going to the prize pool. Buy-in includes $30,000 in tournament chips. An extended blind structure will be offered, with play at 30 minute blinds before moving to 45 minutes later in the day. Blinds starting at $25/$50 will offer additional chances to win. An extended blind structure will offer the aggressive or tight player plenty of time to play their game.

Registration is open at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office, open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Forms may also be downloaded from www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org and mailed to the Civic Center at 500 Glen Avenue Salisbury, MD 21804. Payment must accompany registration. Cash, checks and money orders are accepted (please do not mail cash) as forms of payment. Seating is limited to 300 and is available on a first come-first served basis.
