  2. I would love to know how this turned out in the end. Otherwise, it is just creating more of a problem.

  4. Odor of marijuana gives the officer probable cause to search, no warrant needed

  6. Carrol doctrine allows for warantless searches of vehicles . odor of marijuana is probable cause.

  7. The police in this video are a disgrace. Seat belt violations are for cops that are worthless.

  9. I think the officer was profiling a long hair bearded guy. I also want to see the results of this .

  10. Law enforcement officers wonder why ppl don't respect them. This is exactly why. I strongly doubt that the couple in this video was using marijuana with a child present in the car. The officer saying he "smelled" marijuana was just a way of throwing his authority around so he could search the vehicle. Technically even if an officer smells marijuana he must have your consent, a warrant or call a dog in and have the dog alert on the car ( which is also easily done with a command from the handler). Officers like the ones in this video should be stripped of their badges and authority, deemed unfit for any law enforcement employment and convicted of the crimes against the public that they have committed.

  11. I won't make a judgement since there was no beginning to the video, but a shaggy haired guy and a little kid in tie dye makes me think they were profiled. Then they piss the cop off when he demands that they "respect my authatay" and it just keeps getting escalated from there.

If you are going to barely open your window, only open it about an inch. That is plenty to pass through any documents, but not enough for somebody to reach into your car.

And if you're going to go with this route of confrontation, realize the cards are stacked against you. Your only hope to have credibility on your side is to both film and have an attorney on standby to help diffuse the situation. Legal Shield can get you access to an attorney 24/7 and they will sit on the phone during the ordeal. The cop is going to be especially cautious when an agent of the court is scrutinizing everything that they do or say. It's only about $20/mo.

  12. 12:02. the odor of Marijuana is probable cause to search a car, in Maryland anyway, not sure about Indiana.

It is convenient that they don't include the video of the search which may or may not have resulted in locating the Marijuana...

  13. as scared as this guy was, you know he had weed in the car. it may have been only a little, but with a kid in the car, there shouldnt be any. stuffs not legal yet, and if the officer smelled it, he has every right to search that car, and if necessary, pull the people out of it if they wont get out on their own. cant wait to see what that ass imclain is gonna say about this one.

  14. There are a zillion meters out there that detect different air components and qualities. We need to get rid of "officer's nose" and get on with a registered, calibrated meter no different than a radar gun would be, period to detect marijuana.

    This is B**lsh*t
