Hong Kong says U.S. officials sent sloppy paperwork in their request for extradition of leakerEdward Snowden. The documents lacked Snowden's passport number and were unclear about his middle name. As a result, after weeks of hanging around Hong Kong, Snowden was allowed to fly to Russia, where he remains out of reach. The White House disputes Hong Kong's version of events. It says Hong Kong was influenced by the Chinese government in Beijing.
Have you ever noticed how people act when they owe you money? They can manufacture reasons to dislike you simply because they don't want to or can't pay you back. Now put that mentality on a global scale with the US vs China and you have the same principle, just much bigger. Our government will come up with any reason possible to be at odds with China. Not because we don't want to pay them back, but because we CAN'T pay them back.
