The Loss Of Trust

Amid all the heated crosscurrents of debate about the National Security Agency’s massive surveillance program, there is a growing distrust of the Obama administration that makes weighing the costs and benefits of the NSA program itself hard to assess.

The belated recognition of this administration’s contempt for the truth, for the American people, and for the Constitution of the United States has been long overdue.

But what if the NSA program has in fact thwarted terrorists and saved many American lives in ways that cannot be revealed publicly?

  2. How in the hell does listening to me wish my granddaughter happy birthday on her new cell phone help against terrorism? Just like a previous article stated, "...there is no such thing as a government organized for the good of the people..."

  3. Using that reasoning, put a camera inside every house. Record every conversation. Punish any deviancy from the "approved" line of thinking. Take DNA from every newborn and make everyone provide a DNA sample with their tax forms. Put GPS in every car. The lists are endless. That would stop a WHOLE lot of crime. Of course, it wouldn't be America anymore. And it's not. Keep cheering. But take a moment to read some Orwell. See if you cheer with the same gusto...
