Salisbury needs a new fire boat!

ReplyDeleteThat is a much nicer fire boat than that piece of crap that Salisbury bought. It was also made local and Salisbury's was made and bought from a firm in Canada. Salisbury should have spent the other peoples money locally to help our economy. Rick Hoppes "designed" that fireboat to suit him. He has never had any regard for tax dollars or the City of Salisbury. Thank you Jim Ireton for screwing the tax payers again.

As much money that Layton Moore made in Ocean City he should have given the boat to the town.
ReplyDeleteIt cost HALF of what Salisbury's did, and I recall when presented a couple years ago, they had over 100water related calls for service. Looks like a great job by a local company also.

ReplyDeleteWrong, wrong, wrong! As much money as Ocean City has made from Layton Moore they should be glad he lives there. Mr. Moore works for a living and pays taxes. Ocean City government sits on it's butt and collect taxes.

Westside has a fire boat too. It's in Bivalve Harbor , saw it today.
ReplyDeleteThey told me Westside has 3 fireboats , now that's a little much.
Did some snooping , they are right , the Westside volunteers have 3 fire boats. They said 1 is for fishing , one is for watersports and they didn't know what the 3rd was for. The red one is a big one with twin engines.
For the record, Layton at his own expense retooled and repowered this vessel multiple times. He put at least twice as much money into it as he charged for it. It was a labor of love for him. Ocean City is happy for the support we receive from our community.
ReplyDeleteWestside does have three boats. The smallest one was donated. The larger center console has been used in years past as the main rescue boat. The so called big red one was donated to Westside from Maryland Natural Resources Police. Westside runs more water calls then other departments in the county. All three of the boats have not costed the Department 1% of what Salisbury has in there boat.
