U.S. Labor Secretary Weighs In On MD Jobs

When it comes to the national labor picture, Maryland is faring well.

Unemployment in Maryland is 6.7%, about one point below the national average, according to the state.

"We're seeing growth in construction, we saw growth in professional and business services. Temporary help agencies are hiring right now," according to acting U.S. Labor Secretary Seth Harris. "We saw retail sales shrink a bit. Government jobs are also down."
