Had them done in March, but received a nasty gram from the State asking for an additional $940. Seems our accountant filed local taxes for Worcester instead of our new address in Somerset. I was a little shocked to learn that Somerset taxes were so much higher. Mailed the $940 off last week. The government just takes and takes.
For anyone that lives in Maryland and does their own taxes. You do not have to pay to file your state return. After you finish your federal just go to the state website and you answer a few questions and you are done and they are filed and there is no fee. I hear of so many that use the online tax software and pay 20 or 30 dollars to let it do their state. Take the extra 5 minutes and save yourself the 20 or 30 dollars.
Yeah, and mailed them out this morning.

ReplyDeleteMy Maryland tax form had one question and one instruction. 1st "How much money did you earn in 2012"? 2nd "Send it in"!
