Legislative Extortion By Democrats

Law would fire sheriffs for defying gun control measures
Supporters of the 380 sheriffs in 15 states who so far have vowed to defy new state and federal gun control laws claim that legislation is starting to pop up around the nation to fire any state elected or appointed law enforcement official who doesn't obey federal orders.

The first effort emerged in Texas. Legislation proposed by Dallas Democratic Rep. Yvonne Davis would remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws.

What's more, it would remove any elected or appointed law enforcement officer for simply stating or signing any document stating that they will not obey federal orders.

A gun lobbyist told Secrets, "Beware because once something like this is introduced in one state, it will be followed very quickly in several other states."

  1. Figures a Democrat would bring this up...in Texas no less!

They want to fire individuals for standing up for what is right!

  2. "remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws"

So does this mean that they will be removed if they don't arrest every illegal alien they come across? Being in this country illegally is a federal crime.

  3. Sheriffs and other police should be required to enforce the laws on the books. I don't like restrictive gun control laws either, but what if a Sheriff decides one day he doesn't think child molestation should be illegal so he's not going to enforce those laws? Not OK to fire him?

  6. As stated by our own Sheriff, he swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. The law violates the constitution. What part of SHALL NOT INFRINGE do these idiot liberals not understand?

How can they make a law to fire an elected official. We the people hired him or her and it seems like we the people should be the only people able to fire him or her.

Buckle up folks, this Obama train is running at high speed. Thanks all you Obama supporters for another fine mess you've gotten the rest of us into.

  7. I guess every state in the union should indict Eric Holder and Barak Obama for not enforcing Federal law.

  8. When those in power, in this matter, the Sheriffs, start to question and resist authority, the advantage begins to swing. Now some two-bit Democrat who probably has never read (and can't spell it either) the Constitution, wants to remove duly elected (by "we, the people") officials. Nazi's come in all shapes and colors. Some wear badges. Some wear suits. But underneath, they all want power and control. Permanent power and total control. Jefferson warned us. But, people like Yvonne Davis think Jefferson was some TV character she used to watch while waiting for the mail.

  9. So here's how we do it, folks! A hard number of dollars is budgeted each year to pay our Sheriff's department. IF, and I can't see how, any Deputy is "removed", well, so is his salary amount from the Sheriff's budget amount. We, the Taxpayers, who hired this officer, can pick up his salary from tax dollars, now paid into escrow, and keep that officer as a privately paid individual and assign him to work out of the Sheriffs office and report to the same superior he did before! Then, since we, the employers will have to hire a payroll company to pay him separately, will have to back charge that amount, again, from taxes paid in, through another escrow account!

So, in aggregate, we keep our Constitution following officers, and it costs the state in reduces revenue plus the $ for the added payroll company!

So, yeah, Gov., go ahead and make that law!

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!
