State Police are struggling to keep up with the huge demand for guns in Maryland. Officers are working overtime performing background checks on prospective owners and if you want more than one gun, it could take months.
In Pasadena, some 200 prospective gun owners are now waiting on background checks to be performed by the state. It's a back-up that has frequent gun owners steeped in frustration.
At Pasadena Gun and Pawn, there's a run on guns like they've never seen before. An assault rifle, long rifles, any rifle - if it fires it's sold. And some customers are after more than one gun.

Buy privately if you can. There are many folks who have a good collection, but want to thin it down to maybe two ammo types, or they don't shoot that much anymore, want to keep a couple for protection and sell the rest. Stop the flow of $100/ gun turn in days and claim these guns for general circulation! Besides, when they do come for your guns, and they will, you'll have 6 or 9 they don't know exist!

Just for the call for my approval from Gander Mountain. Eight weeks to the day. How is that legal.
ReplyDeleteGo anywhere else but gander. They are the slowest around to deal with
ReplyDelete51 days on my last purchase in January. Will be able to purchase next one early April, and hope to have it within 60 days...not holding my breath though
ReplyDeleteThey WILL come for those guns. That is the end intent for all these sissy, scared of the dark liberal ninnies. Too bad they weren't in France or Germany 70 years ago. They would have some up close and personal experience on why citizens should ALWAYS be armed and ABLE to fight. Ain't no dictator (or wanna-be dictator) ever given up power to kill citizens because he read a mean editorial in the newspaper. He just killed the editor. Don't EVER think that power hungry despots and dictators are only found in OTHER countries. Lincoln didn't have any problem with "suspending" our constitutional rights (like he had that authority). And now, our current President thinks it would be "inappropriate" to kill Americans with drones. Without trial or charges. Not wrong, or against the law, but merely inappropriate. 51% of Americans think he's the second coming of Christ. And he just told them he can kill them and doesn't need permission and is not constrained by any old "Constitution". We got rid of a guy named Hussein (no, no, the other one) and called it "fighting for freedom". What is it called when we do it here?? REVOLUTION. Buy guns and ammo and be ready to get busy.
ReplyDeleteMade a purchase on 3/1 and the backlog was 5 weeks then
ReplyDelete...and nobody has ammo for sale.
ReplyDeleteCOMAR 29.03.01.10 states that they can release the gun after 7 days even in the background check is not complete. Maryland State Police are getting around that by not assigning a NICS number, required by the Brady Act. It's a backdoor way of screwing gun purchasers. Yesterday I filed suit against MSP in District Court over this. I'm sure they will claim sovereign immunity but at least it's going to be a pain for them to defend the suit.
ReplyDeleteGood job 8:07 and good luck.

I hate to be a naysayer, but I have doubts about people around here doing anything other than talking.
Most people on the shore are passive-aggressive. They might get together and drink a few beers saying they're going to do this, and they're going to do that. They might even fight amongst themselves, but that's as far as it would get.
Now if they could drive over the enemy with their 4x4's or throw a pumpkin at them, we might see some action.
Other than that, they will still go to work in the chicken plant each day and stomp their feet.
Besides bashing a chicken against a wall, they can't kill a person. They would be shaking in their boots if they ever had to face down ANY cop, let alone kill one. lol.
They know it's wrong to kill someone, and they have been to well conditioned.
There might be one or two at best who will climb a tree or hide in the woods and try to be a sniper but they won't last long.
All those pretty little rifles, shotguns and pistols they just bought will stay locked up. Well oiled and shiny sitting in their gun cabinets or cases.
Not too many have gun safes because the chicken plant doesn't pay that well.
I can just envision 4 or 5 of them going on a weekend 'training mission'. Face paint, spit shined boots, (maybe), camo gear, and of course dozens of MRE's.
There is always one in the group everyone calls Gomer Pyle. He can't do anything right and trips on his own laces. The others just shake their heads.
Not realizing the rest of the world is laughing at them.
Molon Labe fella's. lol
I've been waiting since Feb. 22. Not holding my breath either. Going to go in and purchase another today. I won't have technically purchased one in the past 30 days when I apply today, as I won't have taken possession of it. Nor will the background check be done on the 2nd before the 30 days. I am sticking with one ammo type. Tricks we have to use to maintain our rights. It's not right!
ReplyDelete12:09. What an elitist slam. I'm supposing all those chicken plants are overflowing with military veterans, too. You know, the ones TRAINED to attack and defend a position. Advance on a superior force. Hit what they aim at. The first time. Thousands of men and women who have ALREADY killed. From Vietnam to Afghanistan, we have LEGIONS of citizens trained to fight. I won't even begin to talk about the millions of hunters, who not only have a lot of weapons, but a lot of knowledge about the land, knowledge of camouflage, and ambush tactics, too. And how many military units will cross over and JOIN civilians? That's the BIG unknown, which scares the hell out of the military and civilian authorities. It ain't gonna be pretty, it ain't gonna be clean, and it ain't gonna be nice. It WILL be necessary, per Mr. Jefferson, who, I'm pretty sure, was a lot smarter than YOU. And Washington, I'm sure, reflected on the fact that he had to beat the world's mightiest army and empire with a bunch of UNTRAINED farmers and shopkeepers. The kind of people you make fun of now.

ReplyDeleteNot really making fun of anyone, just calling it like I see it. Everything you say COULD happen, but that doesn't mean it will.
Vets-smchets. How many are still young enough and ABLE enough to do what you hope they will?
You can't get 3 people on here to agree the sky is blue. You want us to believe there will be a sudden patriotic surge and everyone will join hands like they are in Braveheart or something?
Things were far worse in colonial times than they are now. They were occupied and endured a lot more than the crybabies of today.
Things are bad, sure. But things will have to get a whole lot worse to get the kind of motivation you dream about.
People around here cannot even conquer a gang or pick a fire Cheif, what chance would they have against a trained, professional, albeit brainwashed, military?
I'm sure there will be pockets of resistance but nothing of a grand scale. Not yet. People haven't suffered enough and are not backed into a corner.
How many times have you seen comments about people wanting to move rather than fight for their rights? They are going to pick up a rifle and start shooting at cops and national guard? HA!
7:45 ONLINE my friend. Everything is out there, waiting for you to buy. Everyone around here is upping prices and sliding ammo to their friends or the highest bidder, even walmart. Send you money to a state that supports your rights, most of the time shipped free. I'm buying .22lr for $20/525, .223 and 5.56 at $5/20. Hell, there's even a site that does all the work for you, you just have to find it. Not posting here due to the nancys.
