A Viewer Writes: "Could This Be The Kiss Of Death"?

This change on the council will end the voting bloc that has crippled Salisbury and renew the city’s potential. Salisbury has been blessed with outstanding City Council representatives and I am convinced that Day will be one of the finest to serve.

  1. This is just sick, since she was the cause of a great deal of strife for the council and the city.

  2. To those big Jake Day supporters out there do you think he will be able to fulfill his job as a city council member if elected? If you remember reading the Daily Times article when he commented about his numerous speeding tickets he blamed it on having to drive 65 miles a day to work each way. If that is the case do you think he will be able to take off every single day there is a work session? Do you think his employer will allow him that much time off. Think about it, that is 130 miles a day which means he is on the road over 2 1/2 hours every day. There are a lot of work sessions and budget work sessions coming up very soon. I doubt seriously he will be able to participate in the work sessions. Work, Court, National Guard duties? How can he make that commitment. It is quite obvious that Jim Ireton picked Jake Day to be his Rubber Stamper at the night meetings if he can make it. Jake Day is a bad choice. You talk about grid lock, it will always be a 2 to 2 vote because Jake day will rarely be at the meetings. Don't be stupid on this one.

  3. That excuse of driving 65 miles each way to work and that is why he gets tickets is bull. My husband has been driving almost a thousand miles a week for the last 3 years because there are no jobs in this area. He has yet to get a ticket. With the gas bill we have we can't afford a speeding ticket and the fine that come with it.

  4. How does she know this? Has she had long conversations with him? Remember, she was REALLY bad at choosing people to be her department heads. She picked them because she could control them, not for their expertise.

  7. This from the woman that brought you the big giveaways of the Scheme Team and a wastewater plant that can't process it's poop.

She also blasted the council for changing attorneys quickly. Pot meet kettle. Her change of attorneys was faster and less transparent.

Thanks for endorsing Jake Day, Barrie. Lots of us still remember you, and are paying through the nose for what YOU and your puppets did to this city. Sounds like Jake Day is a puppet refill for you.

  9. Great point 9:33 PM. He is the best thing since sliced bread since he is running against Debbie Campbell. Barrie Tilghman can only wish she was half the public servant Debbie Campbell is. What is interesting is Debbie and Jim were best friends for 20 years and now Jim turned his back on Debbie and jumps in bed with Barrie Tilghman who was once his enemy. Proves without a doubt that Jim Ireton has sh*t fir brains. What a two faced piece of crap he is.

  10. Tilghman is a former mayor of Salisbury who drove this city to the brink of financial and social disaster taking care of her developer, banker, real estate investor buddies at the expense of the taxpayers, small and large. The same buddies want more taxpayer money.

  11. Amazing that Barrie Tilghman has the audacity to think her word means ANYTHING. No one enriched themselves and her cronies while in office more than she!!! Barrie and her despicable antics at the city council meetings still makes me angry--completely monopolizing time alotted for others to speak, eventually banning citizens from speaking at times, being as nasty as possible to Von Siggers and Debbie--looking down her nose with disdain at ANYONE who tried to stand up for the city taxpayer. Barrie Tilghman got rich though, and so did Mike Dunn, and the unamed LLC's that received exorbitantamounts of money for worthless land. And lets not forget old Paul Wilbur-he committed legal malpractice and cost the city millions due to his pathetic grasp of the law--and billed the city for a fortune. And who could forget her drunken rampage in the parking lot with her daughter--who physically attacked another councilperson-all with Chiefy Webster watching. SO now Barrie Tilghman is endorsing the latest Louise Smith for city council--that should be the biggest red flag for city voters in the world. Jake Day is just another SAPOA sycophant.

  15. If she wants people to think Day's ethical, she needs to keep her mouth shut.

  16. Any endorsement from Tighlman would make me change my mind if I didn't already support Debbie Campbell. Tighlman was the reason we lost our police chief Dykes and also thye reason we got Wilber as city attorney. Both decisions didn't serve the the taxpayers well at all. Crime skyrocketed and the taxpayers got stuck with paying for an expensive waste water treatment plant twice. Barrie, if you think people trust you, why didn't you run again?

  17. Amen, 8:38. Barrie Tilghman did terrible things to Salisbury that we are all STILL paying for in many ways!

Barrie is counting on short memories and new people with no history of what she did to get Jake Day in.

Notice how she and even Ireton are all saying how Day getting in is more important that anything. Two mayors saying that. Hmmmmm.

Just targeting Debbie Campbell and the council seat. Hmmmm.

That means they need Day in that seat for their evil plans.

Tell your friends who are city voters what's going on or else this city is SUNK!

  18. If "she" is for Day----then most of Salisbury should Know not to vote for him!
