Kansas would join Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee and Oklahoma as the fifth state to cast climate change as a “controversial” topic. But climate change is only controversial in political and polluter circles, not the scientific community. 97 percent of climate scientists actively publishing in the field agree climate change is human-caused.

Kansas Bill Would Require Teachers To Misinform Students About Climate Change
Last week, the Kansas House Education Committee introduced a bill that mandatesteachers question the scientific basis of global warming, becoming the latest state to take up one of American Legislative Exchange Council’s “model bills” aiming to misrepresent climate change in schools.

This is one of the smartest things to come out of the school system in years.
ReplyDeleteA recent poll of geoscientists and engineers confirmed an earlier poll of weather forecasters (meteorology degrees only). Only 36% attributed warming to man-made causes.
ReplyDeleteSo the students will be as misinformed as ~70% of the pros apparently, unlike the brain surgeons at Think Progress.
apparently the writer is misinformed as well. 97% is nowhere near the actual number.
ReplyDeleteif you can recall about 10 years ago too, the scientific community "fired" hundreds of scientists that did not agree with them. strangely enough, those left standing were employed by the government.
Most scientists live off of government grants to fund their research. If you want the money, you better toe the line on global warming and support the government's view that climate change is caused by man.
