Farmers are rallying from their tractors to repeal a law designed to reduce the growth of septic systems in Maryland.
Joe Kuhn, of Woodbine, gave interviews to reporters while riding on his tractor near the Maryland State House. Farmers who oppose the law say it devalues their land by reducing development potential.
"You take property rights away, take value away from farmers. We need it for our property rights," Kuhn said of the repeal bill as he rode by the governor's residence.

I spoke with Del. McDermott's office today and the aid said they got a lot of protest regarding the "gun" bill, but very little protest for this "septic" bill.
ReplyDeleteshe suggested more people let their voice be heard to get the results we need. Del. McDermott is on our side and wants this septic bill struck down because it will hurt every citizen in our rural counties but he needs YOU to speak up.
FYI, in Wicomico Cty.; Conway and Cane voted for this bill and against the citizens. 3 Wicomico Cty. Council members and Rick Politte didn't sign the letter that was presented last week in Annapolis against the bill. Go figure. Everyone of them need to be held accountable and confronted as to why they want to enact this bill that will just continue to hurt our citizens.
Please call the above named people and hold their feet to the fire.
If I had one, I'd drive it up there in protest. Suffice to say here in this forum, I protest.
ReplyDeleteNot many farmers or property owners left in Maryland.
ReplyDeleteI hope they will leave their tractors.. It worries me when they are on the tractors.
