“Make a promise to yourself that you will stop calling rifles ‘assault weapons.’”
That’s what Glenn Beck said on his morning radio show Thursday as he discussed AR-15s. But why? Is an AR-15 not an assault rifle? Does the “AR” in AR-15 not stand for “assault rifle”?
It doesn’t. In fact, it doesn’t mean “automatic rifle” either, as many might think. AR actually stands for ArmaLite rifle, which is the company that first developed it in the 1950s.

If the military and police have them, the citizens should also own them.
ReplyDeleteNot because of any 'NEED' but because we need the same armament as they do.
Why? So we are evenly matched and they cannot overpower us.
That's what they are scared of. They want the upper hand. Don't give it to them unless you want to be slaves and your life dependent on their whims.
Don't get boiled alive like that proverbial frog.
Maybe we should also have tanks and drones
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind owning a tank but I don't know how to fly, even if it is remote controlled it still would be a last pick for me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would like to pick up some smart ass powder to keep pests like you at a distance.
The whiny people's couch is over there <<<<<<<. I suggest you use it and leave the rest of us alone. We might decide to save your life if you do.
The only difference in weapons for military and semi-military is there's is capable of being automatic and civilians are semi-auto. My M-16 was slightly different than what I could buy at Dick's. And ALL weapons are ONLY assault weapons when PEOPLE decide to ASSAULT peoplewhich is RARE, not common place. Criminals will kill and they will NOT follow the law, period. Libturds are in lala land on this issue.
ReplyDeleteTo 11:16-don't forget grenades. That's what I want, along with a launcher.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking that 10:03 and 3:24 are the same person and exactly right. The PURPOSE (read some history, you whiny sissies afraid of the dark) of the Second Amendment was to k=make sure the citizens had the POWER to RESIST and OVERTHROW a despotic government, which even Thomas Jefferson said was the end result of ALL --- ALL --- governments. Hunting? NOT A WORD in the Bill of Rights. Same goes for "self defense". READ the opening paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence. Then tell me that they could have accomplished our liberties and freedoms with some mean editorials against the Crown. Thats ALSO the reason for the Posse Comititas Act. The military, being much more powerful and organized, IS (supposedly, and a BIG "supposedly") NOT allowed to enforce civilian law. When the people in power point a gun at us, we get to point one (or more) back at 'em. Its called "keep those jerks in check". JUST LIKE Jefferson wanted it and as it should be. Now get back under the covers 11:16. There's a storm coming and there may be some loud noises and some scary wind....
ReplyDeleteHow about we refer to liberals as "assault people" for their constant assault on our rights and liberties.
ReplyDeleteThe fact is that any gun can be used to assault someone just as a car, a knife or a hammer can. More people are killed in this country every year by hammers and blunt objects that by "assault rifles".
>>>How about we refer to liberals as "assault people" for their constant assault on our rights and liberties.<<<
ReplyDeleteHa - now that's one of the better suggestions I've read in a while. I'd like to follow that up with a complete ban on 'assault people'.

And you are correct.
