President Obama Could Get 3 Terms If H.J.Res 15 Abolishes Term Limits

Americans around the nation were shocked Friday as they heard about H.J.Res. 15. H.J.Res 15 proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the Twenty-second Amendment. This would remove the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.Rep. José Serrano (D- NY15) introduced the controversial joint resolution on Friday, the second day of the 2013 legislative session.

The last President to serve more than two terms was Franklin D. Roosevelt. Roosevelt served three full terms as President and was elected to a fourth term. Roosevelt died 83 days into his fourth term in office.

Congress passed the Twenty-second Amendment on March 21, 1947. The required number of states ratified it in 1951. There have been numerous attempts to repeal the Twenty-second Amendment, including a previous attempt by Rep. José Serrano. Rep. Serranoattempted to repeal the Twenty-second Amendment with H.J.Res. 5 in 2009.

  4. After the next four years we will not recognize America. We need to stand up for our rights. Vote in new people that will stop this from happening and protect our rights.

  10. Ummm. I know that this will not be a popular reply, but here goes. And PLEASE, do not be distracted by facts. This particular Congressman has introduced this bill every two years since 1997. It has never made it out of committee. It has also been introduced by 6 other elected officials, including 3 Republicans. Most of these took place in the 1990's. Sorry, did mean to ruin your day.

  12. Thats the problem. We all talk about fighting but are not doing a thing. We all need to act togrther soon before it is too late. We need to clean house on both sides of the aisle. If this even gets close we should act accordingly. sometimes in the course of human events violence has been necessary to achieve the desired results.

  13. i think that 11:41 should move forward. As a matter of fact don't wait for the police to come get your guns, load up and head down to the police station and DARE them to take your guns! And don't forget to tell them what you will do if they even ATTEMPT to do that! That should keep you busy for a little while.

  14. You know what's really funny? I never hear one good thing about obama but he won the election so there was a mess of dumb a**"s that voted for him. Ask any of them why and they can't even tell you any of the things he stood for. Here's what they know: I get food stamps, I get a Obama government phone, I don't have to work, I get free medical care, all the illegals can come here and he takes care of them.! I want to reelect him cause he's good to us people.

  15. ...everyone cool your jets. First lets face reality. Tis past election was all about race. Say it isn't but the facts don't lie. If you look at a county by county breakdown of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia, you will see the the only counties that Obama won we're where the big cities are. And what do we have in the big cities? 'Nough said about that.

Now as for term limits, won't happen. The 2 term limit was put in place for a reason. We have 4 more years left and then all of the problems will be Paul Ryan's or Hillary's.

  16. Not the first time this has been attempted, and won't be the last. We need to remain vigilant and outraged every time it happens.
