When your in the restaurant business and you choose to prep food OUTSIDE your business, you might want to make sure someone isn't around with a camera.
Yes, the Health Department is in possession of this photo and the restaurant IS under investigation as we speak.
That's sick I'm glad I never ate their.
ReplyDeletewhich one is this? there are 3 in salisbury
ReplyDeleteWhat food is he prepping? It's hard to tell from this photo.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the one off college ave.
ReplyDeleteat least he's got something on his head, which is more than we can say about his rear
ReplyDeleteDarn I forgot today the special was asphalt cat.
ReplyDeleteIs that why their shrimp fired rice tastes so good!
ReplyDeletefresh cat
ReplyDeleteThat's the same place where the one worker chopped off the other workers hand years ago.
ReplyDeleteThis is really the least of anyone's worries who is concerned about what foods we eat------
ReplyDeleteGenetically altered fruits and vegetables, hormone, antibiotic laced meats-the list goes on and on.
That's just disgusting. I go to Hunan Chinese in Berlin. They are quick and there food is always hot and awesome. I've never had a meal there I didn't like.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Joe. Chase another non American business out of town.
ReplyDeleteHe's prepping ground chicken.
ReplyDeleteHe is chopping seafood with a hammer!!
ReplyDeletenasty, gross, disgusting.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like the one that is between the bowling alley and Big lots.
ReplyDeleteIts college ave
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS BESIDE PAPA JOHNS BY SALSARITAS... the strip across form the old dress building..
ReplyDeleteThe one between the bowling alley and Big Lots is Hunan PALACE!!!...which always has great food! This is Hunan Delight.

So you condone this and you will eat there?
Got a side order of butt crack with that Cat Lo Mein?

ReplyDeleteI think the bag broke and he is picking the asphalt out of the ground up cat.
ReplyDeleteNext t o the post office by Ace Hardware hope they shut them down imagine what they do behind locked doors???
ReplyDeleteLook at the bait box near by. That can't be healthy.
ReplyDeleteWe were in the No #1 Chinese Buffet in Salisbury a couple of months ago and the whole time we were eating, two people (the cashier said they were the owners) were in the kitchen screaming at each other and throwing things. Made for a very miserable meal. Halfway through the cashier turned up the radio really loud so we couldn't hear them yelling. But then, we could barely hear each other. The food was good, but we won't go back. I understand people have disagreements, but take it outside so your customers don't have to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteIt be about ten minutes.
ReplyDeleteThe next place they need to visit is the KFC on Route 50. We went there one night last week around 7:30. We were waiting and waiting and waiting. They were too worried about the drive thru and getting them served. Then a gentleman asked for a manager. The so called manager came over and was rude as hell. Not to mention he had his shirt untucked and his hat was all cock eyed on his head. When the gentleman asked if he thought that was very professional the guy's comment was he was filling in for someone. So the gentleman asked for the regional number to complain.
ReplyDeleteI think that all employees should wear gloves in a restaurant establishment. If you are taking money you are not directly handling the food either. I could go on and on....
Rat traps on the ground next to them Nastyyyyyyyyyyy CLOSE EM DOWN.
ReplyDeleteThat guy is obeying the law. Dogs are not allowed in eating establishments.
ReplyDeleteIf you observe, the photo taken was from a location next door. You see the interior of the exit door.
ReplyDeleteJoe, Let us know what happens with this. I am curious to know how the Health Department ends up handling this. I know you can find out. Thanks

The owner is Dennis Dempsey. 410.726.6180. His office is on the corner of Camden Ave and Carroll Street. It's on the second story of Dr. Rosenthal's Pain Management office.
Come on people give the poor guy a break he not no someting wong
ReplyDeletePapa Johns taking OUT the competition.
ReplyDelete419 Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. He certainly will be receiving a phone call. I know the other gentleman was ticked.
ReplyDeleteRAT BOX Ahhhhhhhhhh
ReplyDelete"Salisbury TOP 100 Asian delights"
ReplyDeleteLooks like an open and shut case for the health department. How can you not shut them down for this picuture. No photo chop here.
ReplyDeleteThey need to be shut down or fined $5000.00
ReplyDeletePlease keep us updated on this situation.
ReplyDeleteto 2:25 That one needs to be chased out
ReplyDelete4:23..lol that was funny
ReplyDeleteI wish the health dept would come up with a scoring system and rate each restaurant they went into. Make the owners display their score in the front of the restaurant as well as published in daily news reports. Might encourage some people to think a little before doing crap like this.
ReplyDeleteMaryland needs a Health dept score like a lot of states have A B C D E F
ReplyDeleteand it has to be posted in the front window by law.
You haters don't even know he's doing. So quick to judge..,
ReplyDeleteThe health department would advise him to put down a cutting board and please wear gloves. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pic speaks for itself 8:27
ReplyDeletewell when people eat there they have a right to be concerned. if it was for personal use he should have done it at his personal residence. instead of in back of a eatery with his uniform on. now he has damaged the eatery's reputation and customer base.
ReplyDeleteit's a natural assumption when this is seen to think it would be used in said eatery. and who is to say now that it hasn't? even if it hasn't some people may think it was/is and that would be the same if it had/has.
These people have NO concept of our rules in America, that or they are just plain Ignorant.
ReplyDeletecould be making another can of beans!
ReplyDeleteAnyone know why deli and aqua both on the dowtown plaza closed?
ReplyDeleteTook my granddaughter to the All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet on the North end of Salisbury, when my granddaughter go up to go get dessert, ROACHES crawled all over her seat, we left immediately after paying the bill and have never gone back. That place is so dirty, hope the Health Dept. checks this one out as well.
ReplyDelete933 call them 410 749 1244 do something about it don't sit back and let others do it ?
ReplyDeleteWe need places like this to help lessen the burden on the Humain Society.
ReplyDeleteCome on people "think like an owner" He is employee of the month material. He probably used the puddles there to clean them. We should all have employees that think outside the backdoor.
Salisbury has a terrible reputation for lousy business practices. If the Chamber wants to see business attracted to Salisbury, they better start training the ones already here.
ReplyDeleteI am out and about every day and I hear so many complaints from people, from rude behavior to dirty premises to undependable hours, you name it.
Another reason a Harris Teeter won't come here. Who wants to staff an upscale store with people who take no pride in themselves or what they do?
A few years back I was at a famous cake store on the shore and a pick up truck pulled up with a palett of Duncan Hines mixes and drove around back I followed it and they started unloading it in the cake store - so much for home made! You have to be careful!
ReplyDeleteThere is 3 Hunan Delight. All 3 now has different owner. Hunan Delight on North Salisbury Blvd is the only one that is own by the original owner. This one on the picture is the Hunan Delight on College Avenue which was sold last year. Hunan Delight on fruitland was sold 2 years ago. So all 3 store is not related anymore. The original owner now only has the Hunan Delight north which is next to Cafe Milano. The one under investigation is Hunan Delight on College Ave. Has no relationship with North or Fruitland store. Different owners. New Owner of College Ave Hunan Delight is under investigation. This picture was taken by papa john next door. Avoid Hunan Delight on College Ave. Other 2 Hunan delight is ok.
ReplyDeleteI being to Hunan Delight up north. The food is good. I see the original owner there and he really cares about the customers. It is sad to see him sell the college ave store to someone else. The original owner name is Tony. The phone number is 410 860 0111. The food there is good today as the day they open.
ReplyDeleteIf you see a restaurant and the owner is not the same you should know there is ownership change. They will always tell you the old owner is on vacation or something. The new owner does not know what he is doing. I been to the college ave location and asked where the original owner was. I found out the original owner has gone back to his original store up north next to Cafe Milano. I am sure he is angry that the new owner at college avenue is running it like the dump. I wonder if he knows this yet. I order food every friday at North Hunan Delight. I will tell him then. This will never happen if he still own the College Ave location. But he work too much and relax time.

Let me guess...you voted for Obama!
You do not suppose, that he was going to rinse it all; when he was done?
ReplyDeleteWe stopped getting takeout from here last spring when one of our chicken dishes had undercooked chicken. I took it back and had to argue with them just to get a refund on the one dish even when the evidence was in front of them. I agree with 6:53 PM above that the Health Department needs a rating system. I came here from NC where there is a rating system that is prominantly displayed in every restaurant. No one would eat in a restaurant with less than an 'A' rating. The local news runs a weekly investigations into restaurants with less than an 'A' rating.
ReplyDelete1:39. Mr. M, do you really think its ok to do this as long as he washes it off? You have lost your mind.
ReplyDeleteThe hunan delight on college ave has been under new owner for a year and a half now. It seems the new owner does not have serve safe class and do not know what he is doing. I have been going to the north salisbury by subrunnner where the original owner is now. I see he also took his staff up there as well when he sold the college ave location. Those guy can cook. Best mei fun and general chicken anywhere. I think when someone sell a business they should make the new owner change the name so we know. For those of you do not know. The original owner is ONLY at the 901 North Salisbury Blvd Hunan Delight and has sold the other two for at least a year now. Keep inform.
ReplyDeleteDelete my comment please
ReplyDeleteBy last spring it was under new ownership. Since I know the original owner is now managing the north hunan delight I am going to tell him what is happening to his sold store. He is always nice and care about his food and customers. I always talk to him about food. My favorite is fried rice and lo mein, This is obvious 100% new owners fault. I would avoid college ave store and go to north store and glad I have done so since they sold that joint.
ReplyDeleteHaving some experience living in the third world, this probably isn't a big deal. Against the rules? Probably. But I guarantee you every restaurant has at least one violation. And most have several. If you're the kind of person that wants everybody to wear gloves, you really shouldn't go out to eat in any restaurant. Put on gloves and cook for yourself in your own kitchen. And butcher or grow your own food while you're at it. Otherwise, you'll never sleep at night.
ReplyDelete1203 I'm just curious...do you think it is completely acceptable for a cashier who is handling money to then turn around and handle your foods without gloves and without washing their hands???
ReplyDeleteI am the original owner of Hunan Delight. We sold the College Ave location in October 2010 (where this incident happened) We now only own the Hunan Delight North (901 North Salisbury Blvd) It is extremely upset to hear something like this is happening. Because to me, customer is family. I was a microbiology major in University of maryland and work as a manager for a restaurant chain. After seeing all the abuses I decided to open a place where customer comes first. Our first place was in Largo maryland. We had a customer that drove from Salisbury to see us. For 2 years he beg us to come to Salisbury. We came and fall in love with Salisbury. In few years we had 3 stores. All built with love and customer care was #1 on the list. We also franchise a Rita's store in Baltimore. Because the work load which was too much to handle. We decided to sell the 2 store. One in College Park and one in Fruitland. We kept the store in North Salisbury Blvd. We have many fans out there. Our first store we were next to a nutrition center and we learn to cook health. We use things like flank steak because it is high quality and less fat. We use hormone free chicken from Perdue. Many of my customer whom I consider family advise me to post so everyone knows. You are welcome to visit me at Hunan Delight (901 North Salisbury Blvd). We had no association with the other 2 Hunan Delight Since October 2010. The phone number for Hunan Delight
ReplyDeleteNorth Salisbury Blvd is 410 860-0111. Email is mmritas@yahoo.com. www.hunandelightnorth.com.
Please feel free to email me with any comments. All comments are welcome. Remember, businesses is built with love, not with abuses. This is why many know me by my name. Thanks Tony Cheng.
Mr. Dempsey's Long John Silver is not better with cust. svc. or food. I will NEVER eat there again. You had to put down a napkin to catch the grease dripping off the fish & the very large guy with his gut hanging out was nasty. They comped the next visit after calling to complain but it was just as bad. Like I said "Never again".
ReplyDeleteYEAH 1:23 you loved it that much who are you kidding its all about the $$$
ReplyDeletei think this guy is fixing someting over there,i ate there all time, they cook best fried rice, lomein sauce is super good i never taste since i came to salisbury.their store is clean all time and employees wear the uniform and put a hat on.we trust it and support them further.
