Don't need to replace him, remember the executive director position Ireton created? Nuff said!
Need to shut that money pit down if the county won't help more to fund it AND start charging. City taxpayers are taking a beating now for the park and the Zoo while the few who use it aren't city residents.
Hamilton had nothing to fear from Albero. He's young, so moving on is not so weird.
What Ireton does with this will be interesting. He can't blame the council for Hamilton leaving. They've been supportive of the zoo. He can't blame the council for the replacement - zoo director isn't a department head in which council has any say.
Here we go again. It will be a year or more before he's replaced.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet his replacement is going to be Cathy Bassett. He sees the April election writing on the wall. Will Barbara Duncan be next.
ReplyDeleteThis City, it's disfunctional government and it's malcontent citizens chase these professionals away. Really a shame.
ReplyDeleteCLOSE THE ZOO!
ReplyDeleteNow maybe Barbara Duncan, Rick Hoppes, Teresa Gardener and Bill Holland will leave next.
ReplyDeleteYea! Close the zoo give the money to the board of education.

TO 1010. Isn"t the Board of Education already part of of ZOO? Perhas the monkey part?
ReplyDeleteHe is a great guy and NOLA will be lucky to have him! He will be missed.
ReplyDeleteWe always lose the good ones!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine why , I guess he learned the whole city was considered a Zoo.
ReplyDelete"Yea! Close the zoo give the money to the board of education."
ReplyDeleteNah - close the board of ed and give the cash to the zoo!
