Both Projects Address Safety Concerns for Two Intersections in Snow Hill
(December 13, 2012) – The State Highway Administration (SHA) is holding a public meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 19 to discuss proposals to improve two intersections on US 113 in Snow Hill. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Worcester County Commissioners’ board room on the first floor of the Worcester Government Building at North Washington Street.
SHA will provide an overview of a new intersection improvement concept that is currently being designed for the US 113/MD 365 (Public Landing Road) and US 113/MD 12 (Snow Hill Road) intersections. SHA expects design of the projects to be complete spring 2013. Both projects are funded through the design phase; additional funding will be needed for construction.
SHA engineers will present project descriptions of the planned improvements for both intersections. An SHA traffic study determined the construction of “J-turns,” a right turn to a safe u-turn point, are a safe option to prevent crashes at both locations.
For more information about the projects or meeting, citizens may call the SHA District One office at 410-677-4000 or toll-free at 800-825-4742.
