If you're into making charitable contributions during the holidays and happen to have lots of hotel rewards points, you may want to consider donating them to military veterans.
Army Spc. Tim Hall and his father visited Baltimore after he was awarded a Purple Heart for his service overseas. Hall, 23, a native of Hawthorne, Nev., had both of his legs amputated in June 2010 after being injured by a mortar attack in Afghanistan, according to the website homesforourtroops.org.
Hall and his father stayed at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel for free using a program called Hotels for Heroes in which anyone can donate their hotel rewards points to be used by injured or ill military members and their families.
