The Supreme Court is set to take up the issue of marriage equality next year, but we already know which way one justice is expected to rule.
Antonin Scalia has previously compared federal laws banning gay marriage to federal laws banning murder and bestiality. He has argued that government can indeed ban behavior that it believes to be immoral. While speaking at Princeton University on Monday, Scalia was asked about his previous comments on gay marriage and responded by again comparing gays to murderers saying, "If we cannot have moral feelings against homosexuality, can we have it against murder?" Those comments aren't too surprising coming from the high court's resident dinosaur. But they do add to the long list of unethical behavior the Scalia has racked up while on the bench, with numerous cases of partiality, accepting gifts, and being paid to speak at politically charged events. The aging Scalia will have to retire soon, but Congress should do its job first and impeach this corrupt associate justice.
Sodom and Gomorrah.....
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like it was written by a Democrat. Chuck Cook or even Jim Ireton maybe?
ReplyDeleteScalia is a bonehead and should not be on the Supreme Court. Maybe at one time he had some judicial sense but not anymore. He has some very fanatical views.
ReplyDeleteHe can retire and get a part time packing fudge at a candy store. Now that would be funny...
ReplyDeleteScalia's clogged arteries are starting to affect his brain.
ReplyDeleteBe great if Obama got to replace him.
ReplyDeleteWhat liberal jargon. Scalia if one of the best Supreme Court justice's to serve in recent history. Most of the people writing in on here have no education in the judiciary system. Take some constitutional law classes and then come back and talk on here.
ReplyDeleteScalia is a VERY smart man and believes in precedence and what the constitution says, not what liberals what the constitution to say (even though liberals don't believe in the constitution). You think he is corrupt? Look at our socialist president first.
I don't know who wrote the article, but they are terribly uninformed. Supreme Court Justices are appointed for life and Scalia and all other judges can stay on the court until the day they die if they wish to do so
ReplyDeleteGawd I am sick to death of hearing the never ending whining and theatrical drama from gays about their rights. How about worrying about how many gays are pedophiles instead and doing something about THAT.
ReplyDeleteAll of scotus are dinosaurs save for roberts & alito, so they may very well all be against it.
