Sources tell the Associated Press: President Barack Obama could nominate Sen. John Kerry(D-Mass.) to be the next Secretary of State this week. Kerry chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, served in the Vietnam War and was the Democratic nominee for president in 2004. Senators say his confirmation would go smoothly. Current Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she will retire early next year.
