Cheerleading Coach Must Register As Sex Offender

A former supervisor for the District's summer jobs program must register as a sex offender for 10 years after she admitted to giving birth to a baby boy fathered by a high school student in the program.

Bowie resident Loni Haggins, 30, who was also a teacher's aide and cheerleading coach at Wilson High School in Northwest Washington, must also complete 100 hours of community service, U.S. Attorney Ronald C. Machen Jr. announced.

A one year prison sentence was suspended by D.C. Superior Court Judge Russell F. Canan on the condition Haggins successfully complete a year of probation.

  1. Why were'nt there any teachers or coaches like that when I went to school? We did'nt have anyone to sexually abuse us.not being sexually abused is way more traumatic than being sexually abused.

  3. What a double standard! A man would be in jail for making a minor student pregnant!!! She should be in jail.
