African-American Leaders Deliver Agenda For Obama's Second Term

Following a four-hour closed door meeting Monday, the leaders of four African-American advocacy groups emerged looking pleased to announce a collective wish list they plan to deliver to President Barack Obama for his second term.

The "black agenda," as the groups have called their wish list on Twitter, starts with ensuring the fiscal cliff doesn't disproportionately hurt black Americans. That's something Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League, has worried about before. But Morial also listed five new priorities that came out of what he called Monday's "historic gathering." Those include: working for parity for blacks in education, health care and the economy; reforming the criminal justice system; and protecting and defending voting rights.

The White House did not immediately respond to request for comment about whether the president would make these priorities a focus during his second term.

  1. As soon as these so called 'African American leaders" get there own communities in order which no one can deny are hotbeds of poverty and crime then they can start giving their opinions. Until then their opinions do not matter as they are failures of the most extreme kind and not worth listening to.

  5. These Racist fools are a disgrace to society. Look at them jiving for handouts. Hypocrites.
All they do is continue to beg, black male and steal in the name of affirmative action which has become nothing more than an admittance of inferiority.
The truth is blacks as a whole lead statistics in unemployment and crime not to mention all the destructive social implications of the culture. Unwed mothers, failing students, fatherless children, drugs, prostitution, stupidity etc... THESE are the issues the black community should be addressing.
Integration as a grand experiment has failed. Instead of the good rubbing off on the bad, the bad has sowed its seeds in the good.
    FUBU ya'll.

  9. voter suppression??? there was no voter suppression on November 6th. Obammy's folks picked them up, took them to the polls and pulled the lever for them.
Where is White History Month, European American month, Irish American month, Russian American month, Israeli American month (oh wait, that will NEVER happen under a muslim prez), Italian American month, and so on. I guess we'll have to do half month celebrations as America is a melting pot.

  10. These so called africian american "leaders" have been a disgrace and any african american with a brain in their head would tell them all so and start chosing real leaders. It is no secret that most african american communities are in a shambles. Why anyone would continue on with these "leaders" is a mystery. They have done nothing for their communities or their people.
They need to be all shown the door and some REAL leaders put in place and not these loud mouthed ignoramouses.
