Anne Arundel County police say two dogs were shot by officers after attacking a 7-year-old boy.
Police say the dogs were shot Saturday afternoon after they received a call from the boy's aunt. Police spokesman Lt. James Fredericks said that when an officer arrived a few minutes later, the two American bulldogs were still attacking the boy.

What a frightening thing for that little boy! I hope the owner of the dogs is jailed over this.
ReplyDeleteBan them and pit bulls.
ReplyDeleteIt is frightening for the little boy but there has to be more to the story than is being told. I have never seen a vicious American Bulldog. I have seen a few pitbulls that were aggressive but that was due to poor ownership. I have seen or been around a pitbull or American bulldog I couldn't walk up to and interact with.
ReplyDeleteSaying you need to ban big dogs is like saying you need to ban guns. You need to ban stupid people, they cause the problems.
June 19 I was holding my 15 lb bichon in my arms in MY driveway and a neighbors put was loose it took me (67) and my dog to the asphalt so fast i don't remember hitting the ground. I screamed for help as the pit had the bichons entire throat in his mouth, both on top of me, my bichon looking into my eyes begging me to stop the pit. I got bit trying to pry the pit off, finally neighbors heard me scream and saved us, our dog went to surgery and multiple stitiches and drains, and ten days of bedrest. she was so hurt. I had to beg to get my $608 vet bill paid I charged the owner was shocked "i had to charge the bill" and have so far paid my own medical bill. The owners ins co has NOT callled me since July. Owner (a lawyer) said "in our last neighborhood the dog was chained out and A POODLE GOT TO CLOSE " I didn't want to know how the poodle made out my dog was still in surgery. I have 2 replaced hips and shoulders so had an angel watching me as they stayed in place and now nerve damage to my fingers. The Ins carrier has not made contact with me since August. What would you do!
ReplyDeleteRe anonymous 10 09am so you are saying we should "ban the lawyer for being stupid" ? I think since the dog had apparently had "its first bite" when it attacked the poodle something should be done. My dog and I were not being stupid we were in our own driveway. Now every time i am in the yard and hear a strange noise, or see a big dog I have to go into my home. NO ONE especially a child should ever have to go through this. Try going to sleep at night and not see that attack!
ReplyDeleteI think we should ban cars, they are much more dangerous. They wouldn't have been able to obtain the dogs without a car. I guarantee they used money to purchase the dogs. If money were banned they couldn't have purchased the dangerous beasts.
ReplyDeleteThere is NO denying the FACT that pit and pit breeds are overwhelming responsible for the majority of the serious dog bites/attacks that occur. Any and ALL pit owners/"lovers" who are not admitting there is a problem with them is either in denial or is ignorant to the truth.
ReplyDeleteAlso 11:08 it's just plain old dumb to compare dogs to cars. Ridiculous comparisons do not help this very serious problem.
All the so called pit "lovers" are full of lip service when the talk leads toward a breed ban. But in the meantime millions of these breeds are being killed in shelters and are over taxing the shelter systems. When Dalmations were a problem Dalmation lovers stepped in to curb the problem. Not happening with pit "lovers" so courts and government has had to step in. This goes to show the irresponsible owner this type of dog attracts.
2:45 - the reason the shelters are full of Pits is because of morons like you who buy into the hype.
ReplyDeleteThose Pit "lovers" have been FORCED to get rid of their beloved companions by their landlords, their neighbors, their friends and the crazy couple next door that has the yappy ankle biter that just LOVES to stand at the fence and antagonize the Pit.
Just like kids....HOW they are raised makes all the difference.
Stupid is as stupid does.
