The Wicomico County Board of Education wants Congress to forego sequestration cuts and let the federal deficit continue to escalate.
It appears that they want more of their same old 'STUFF' and anything that interferes with them getting that 'STUFF' - well they are opposed to it.
This is another classic example of runaway federal spending and special interest 'robbing the kitty'.
You go, Joe. Let the poor and special ed fend for themselves.
ReplyDeleteSeem like reasonable cuts to me.
ReplyDeleteI did not know Wicomico County had a budget that large. Wonder what the numbers would be if ALL counties in MD were included in these figures.
ReplyDeleteI say let the Title 1 and Special Ed programs merge with the regular students. If they can't keep up, give them the boot.
ReplyDeleteThe BOE still doesn't get it. First they accomplished the task of imposition of Maintenance of Effort to try and sabotage our County Council's budget. But no - that wasn't enough. Now they are trying to sabotage and override the free will of a bipartisan commission that was tasked to restrain runaway federal spending. Instead what does the BOE do - lobby congress to raise the debt ceiling once again - to line their own hip pockets.
ReplyDeleteYou can never win with this group.
The Board of Education is really a dangerous group. Their actions speak louder than words.
ReplyDeleteNow you know why people refer these people as the LTU - (lawless teachers union).
I cannot add the previous comments. This is a shame. But it will still happen, which is a bigger shame.
ReplyDeletethese are the same people tht are spending $80. million on a school, what do you expect? thanks sjd
