The deadline for compliance with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Real ID system has been extended a second time, until Jan. 15, and may be extended again.

Why do the states need to comply with this ID law, didn't just a short while ago states were told the requiring ID to vote was bad and discrimitaory! I should be able to just say my name and get on a plane or train, afterall that is all that is required to vote!
