346 In Whalleyville Now Open

Great news from Worcester County, MD! SHA repairs on MD 346 (Old Ocean City Road) in the village of Whaleyville will finish this afternoon. The road will be open to traffic, in both directions, sometime tonight after 5:00.

You may remember that a large stormwater pipe under the roadway failed during Hurricane Sandy. The flooding caused one lane of the roadway to wash out. (File photo below) 

The 72" diameter stormwater pipe has been replaced as well as the roadway embankment. The damaged road (pictured below) has been resurfaced. — in Whaleyville, MD.
