Today at 3 PM the Wicomico County Council will meet to discuss a proposal to sell the old San Domingo Elementary School. The School was sold to something like a VFW for $75,000.00 but they defaulted on the property and the County took it back.
Now Sharee Sample Hughes has brought forth another buyer, (a local minister) and wants the property to be sold for $60,000.00, NO money down and a 4% interest rate.
What YOU don't know is that the property is on the tax roll for $350,000.00, there's been no appraisal on the property and many are questioning, why?
Now if you hadn't brought this story to the forefront, just when do you suppose, we were going to find out about it? I can tell you, either never or when it was a done deal, signed, sealed & delivered. I absolutely hate the way this city and county do things - sneaky, sneaky, sneaky. You kiss my butt and I'll kiss yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat a laugher.Sharee should be ashamed of herself.
ReplyDeleteuhhhh...it's on the council agenda for discussion. It's anything but a done deal.
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't sound like a potential "kick back" deal, nothing would!
ReplyDeleteShe shouldn't even let herself get that close to something like that!
Raises too many questions.
She's an idiot for doing so!
Well Sheree, you may have the college diploma that you continuosly remind us of, but it sure doesn't keep you from being a dumba$$.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the old Willards Elementary School that was sold to the Willards Volunteer Fire Department about 10 years ago so they could build a new fire house. They never used the property for a new fire house and now they are trying to sell the lots.
ReplyDeleteThere is no talk of and will be no talk of selling off lots from that property.
DeleteIf any of you actually saw the proerty, you would be suprised it was even fetching 60k. The property is a liability to the county and will cost tens of thousands to clean up to ever even be able to do anything with it. I say get what you can get and get the liability out from under the county.
ReplyDeleteI really wish that Wicomico's books were more transparent. There is entirely to much secrecy and concealment.
ReplyDeleteIt is long overdue for our county to provide a line item budget - ONLINE.
With school teachers pension cost shift, the taxpayers in Wicomico need to know what these pensions have invested in. So we the citizens need to know the family of funds that these pensions were invested in. We also need to know where and how much property the county owns. Where is the inventory? There is a lot more I could harp on but I'll leave to what I have already stated.
Is there such a thing as a physical address on this place so we could all participate in the discussion? I'm googling it and find historical records, but nothing to get it tax info, pictures, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe reason Sharee Sample Hughes is behind this is because the potential buyers are black. If they were white she wouldn't even entertain them.
ReplyDeletePeople........everything is not a cooked conspiracy. This property is a slum that is good for nothing. I am sure that bob and joe have an issue with it because it was something a democrat wants to do. Thats okay, the county will continue to cut the grass and potentially be liable if some kid gets inside and drowns in the old indoor swimming pool with the trees growing in it. The county is getting no tax dollars for it. Lets get it off the books and move on. Why talk about how wrong it is if you have never even seen it.
