The Richest Members of Congress

For the first time, the richest member of Congress, as determined annually by Roll Call, had a net worth of more than $300 million. This year’s list also included many names who had made the list before.

The rankings are based on minimum net worth based on assets and liabilities that are cited in broad ranges, so the actual net worth of each representative is not precise.

Roll Call determines net worth by consulting the annual financial disclosure reports from all House and Senate lawmakers, and for each one, subtracts the total minimum value of all liabilities from the total minimum value of their assets.

  1. Congressional corruption sorely needs to be addressed. Small wonder the power of the executive branch continually grows. The fox is guarding the hen house.

We can start with reforming insider trading rules and instituting term limits to end the cycle of lobbyist-congressman-lobbyist-government appointee.

  2. It's all about the money folks. I can't name ONE person in Congress who is there to represent US, We The People. They're there to make money, plain and simple!
They know that after they serve one term, it's hard to not get re-elected and they know even if they don't, they have a lifetime pension.
They could ALL care LESS about US!
    Don't you get it?
