The Daily Times Has Petered Out

Most Commented

No matter what is said, comments play a big role in how well you're doing. Viewers want to share their opinions on certain topics and clearly the Daily Times by their own admission, (above) shows that most people aren't following them any longer.

While comments have been down for us lately as well, (nothing like the DT's though) traffic is still booming. You have to wonder how long it will take them to realize their pay to view articles will be a huge failure.

  1. just clear your cookies in your browser for any "delmarvanow.com" entries and it sets your article count back to 30

Can't stand to pay for news...

  2. I will miss the Daily times but can't see paying for what they do.. I just need Obits, DUI and marriage licences.. The rest is free and sooner elsewhere on the internet.

  3. Recently I started getting a notice that I had to pay $10 a month to read the Daily Times online. WTH? Do they REALLY think people will pay that? I now go to WBOC for sports and as usual Salisbury News for everything else.

  4. Not only do people want to share their opinions alot of people like to read others opinions. The first mistake the DT's made was going to all Facebook comments. That was like digging a hole for themselves and now with the paid subscription they've jumped in the hole. Won't be long before they get buried.
As far as SbyNews comments being down-I've always noticed comments being down more on weekends not only with SbyNews but other online sites I go to.

  6. We had recently gone out of state for a funeral. The funeral home told us how terrible the Daily Times was to work with. I said that I was sorry, and told them our whole town is not as bad as the paper. These are people that work with different newspapers all over the country...and our DT's has to show them what poor customer service is all about. Sad.

  7. 7:32, that is an interesting comment and a sad one on our city. People wonder why we are a laughing stock. We have a lousy newspaper, a hysteric for a mayor,a bungled wastewater plant shoved down our throats by a woman who raised a daughter to kick councilwomen in the groin. The list just goes on!

  8. You have to pay now to get their online content, and their web site, because of all the content, isn't easy to navigate. Your blog is still simple and free.

  9. You can easily get around the "pay mechanism" by coping and pasting the article's headline into google and accessing it from there.
