Philadelphia police said Monday that a 10-year-old boy will face auto theft charges as a juvenile after he stole a van and wrecked five other vehicles before coming to a stop less than a block away.
The incident, which occurred Sunday around noon, was caught on a nearby store’s surveillance camera. Footage shows a furniture delivery man stepping away from a white van, apparently leaving the keys inside.
As video rolled, the boy jumped in the driver’s seat and attempted to speed away, but only made it around the corner before slamming into several nearby parked cars. He then jumped from the cabin and tried to run away, but witnesses cornered the boy and kept him there until police arrived.
