Federal government offices in the Washington, D.C. area will be closed to the public Monday. Non-emergency employees will be granted excused absences. However, feds scheduled to telework should plan to work or request leave. Emergency personnel are also expected to report to work on time. Federal buildings in other parts of the country are also closed as the East Coast prepares to be hit by Hurricane Sandy.
