Mayor Bloomberg, Governor O'Malley, Mayor Rawlings-Blake To Host Press Conference On Marriage Equality

BALTIMORE – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will join Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley and Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to hold a news conference on Friday, October 26th on Maryland’s upcoming referendum on marriage equality. 

Mayor Bloomberg, a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, recently donated $250,000 to the Marylanders for Marriage Equality campaign. Two years ago, Mayor Bloomberg helped support the effort to pass marriage equality in the State of New York.

Next month, Marylanders will have the opportunity to vote FOR Question 6 -- the Civil Marriage Protection Act, which treats everyone fairly and equally under the law while protecting religious freedom. If passed, Maryland would become the first state in the nation to vote in favor of marriage equality at the ballot box.
